In material transportation, there are many difficulties in choosing the right ceramic lined pipe, such as:

1: How to determine the material of the ceramic lining of the pipe?

2: How to determine the material selection of the outer pipe?

3: How to determine the flange requirements of the pipe?

4: How to determine the size of the pipe and the drawing size?

5: How to determine whether the selection of the pipe meets the project requirements?

 

A: First, the parameters of the material transported by the pipeline must be determined, such as particle size, liquid pipe pressure, mixed material content, impact force, acidity and alkalinity, operating temperature environment, etc.

Secondly, the national standard, lining and outer diameter, flange size, and connection method of the pipeline before replacement must be determined. For elbows and tees, it is even more important to confirm whether additional material performance is required.

Finally, the service life of the ceramic lined pipe must be determined. Different materials can be selected as the pipe lining according to different lengths of use.

 

There are two commonly used materials for pipe lining ceramics, namely alumina ceramics and silicon carbide ceramics.

 

Alumina ceramic tube: The main raw material is high-purity alumina powder (usually 95% to 99.9% purity), and the firing temperature of alumina ceramics is usually between 1400°C and 1800°C (2552°F to 3272°F). Alumina ceramic tubes are widely used in industries with high wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, and high thermal stability requirements.

 

Silicon carbide ceramic tube: The main raw material is high-purity silicon carbide powder. Common molding methods include compression molding, isostatic pressing, injection molding, extrusion molding, etc. The sintering temperature reaches 1800℃. Silicon carbide is made into ceramic rings or ceramic linings, which are lined in the pipeline as a wear-resistant layer.Silicon carbide ceramic tubes have excellent corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and high temperature stability.
